Street Name Exhibition 2024

In 2024 the new housing development behind the Ferrers School were looking for ideas for street names. The town council were consulted and decided to submit a number of names from our war memorial, plus the name of a Suffragette who was born in Higham Ferrers. Nine of the names were ultimately selected and these names were then meticulously researched over a few months. The resulting information about these historic heroes (and a heroine) of Higham Ferrers were then displayed on exhibition boards at a special exhibition held the day before Remembrance Sunday.
