Covid-19 emergency measures are in place. While playgrounds are closed the open spaces remain accessible, however, strict social distancing is critical at this time and we politely remind that all Government Guidelines regarding social distancing must be followed.

Following last nights announcement by Boris Johnson the Council have reluctantly decided that the Farmers' Market will not go ahead on Saturday as planned. The Council do not feel that they can safely manage social distancing and in order to protect staff, public and traders, they feel they have no option but to cancel. We'd like to remind everyone that though our playgrounds are closed, our parks and open spaces remain open and accessible. We encourage strict social distancing and observance of all government guidelines while using these spaces. We continue to monitor the situation daily and will update if we need to close the open spaces.

Following current guidelines we are closing all playgrounds in Higham Ferrers effective immediately. We apologise for any disappointment but we hope you will understand we must take this action to ensure the safety of the public. Please adhere to Public Health advice on social distancing when accessing open spaces.
This is for the protection of the most vulnerable people in our community and to reduce the peak of Covid19 cases so that the NHS services can cope with the demand of care required.
