Indoor Planetarium at Higham Library a Success

The 'Indoor Planetarium' at Higham Ferrers Library on 23rd August was a resounding success with all sessions being fully booked. The event organised to support the Summer Reading Challenge was sponsored by Higham Ferrers Town Council who organised the funding from the East Northamptonshire Councillor Empowerment Funding (Cllr Harriet Pentland) and funds raised for the Library through the NN10 run.... Proposed closure of the Library  main topic at the Annual Town Meeting.

The Annual Town Meeting was held last night (20th March) at the Adult School, Higham Ferrers. Reports were give by the Mayor, District Councillor Pam Whiting, Julie Thorneycroft (Town Manager) and representatives of various groups.

The Library is a service currently delivered by Northamptonshire County Council. As part of their money saving measures they consulted on 3 options which affected the future of Higham Ferrers Library. No Decision yet on the future of Higham Ferrers Library

Saturday 13th January is the deadline for responses to the consultation on the future of the Library and Information Service currently delivered by Northamptonshire County Council. Option 1 allows for the delivery of the library services in Higham Ferrers as a community managed service. Option 2 and 3 mean that Library will close. Their final decision will be on 22nd February.
