Community Payback celebrates 50th anniversary with tree planting

We are pleased to have worked with Community Payback for many years in Higham Ferrers. We welcome a Payback team to the town once a week where they carry out tasks like clearing vegetation, painting fences, litter picking, graffiti removal and a number of small jobs to help to make the town cleaner, greener and tidier.

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming Deputy Lieutenant Dominic Goble and representatives from the East of England Probation Service to Higham Ferrers for a tree planting to mark the 50th anniversary of Community Payback.

Last year the team helped to plant some of the trees for the Queens Green Canopy Project and fittingly they have now planted their own tree at 'Higham Heights' close to the Queens Green Canopy tree area. The team were asked what they would like to name the tree and they chose to name it 'Dave' after the Supervisor for this region. We hope Dave the tree fares well on Higham Heights and continues to grow and thrive!
