Public Consulation Events on East Northmptonshire Plan
Public consultation events on East Northamptonshire Local Plan
Members of the public are invited to public consultation events in Oundle and Rushden on the East Northamptonshire Local Plan, which sets out the vision for the future of the district in terms of planning, policy and growth.
The consultation runs until 17 December and, as well as offering an online response form at www.east-northamptonshire.gov.uk/localplan2 , two sessions will be held for people to come along and speak with planners about any concerns or questions they may have.
The first session is at Fletton House in Oundle on 6 December 4-8pm. The second is at Rushden Hall on 10 December 4-8pm. Information will be available at the sessions but members of the public may wish to take a look at the plans online beforehand to familiarise themselves with the proposals.
The district-wide site specific development plan will enable the council to guide the determination of planning applications and will support the strategic policies of the Local Plan Part 1.
The Local Plan Part 2 sets out a strategy for the future of East Northamptonshire, building on the proposals as set out in the North Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy 2011-31. It seeks to add local value through its policies and support the growth of business opportunities across the district and ensure the district's market towns remain thriving and competitive by encouraging town centre regeneration schemes to encourage future redevelopment opportunities.
The plan seeks to support rural communities to ensure they have the ability to meet local need and have opportunities to improve local connections, create local employment prospects and develop tourism opportunities.
