Job Title: Administration and Communications Officer

Salary: Salary Scale SCP 7- 12 from 1st April 2019 (£10.16 -£11.22 per hour).

Hours: Part–Time 25 hours per week. Monday to Friday 11am –4pm (The role will include working some weekends and evenings.)

Proposed Start Date: - As soon as possible

Higham Ferrers is a proactive, forward thinking Quality Council. Over the last 15 years the town has expanded rapidly and is due to expand further including taking responsibility for more open space.

Due to the retirement of a member of staff, an Administration and Communications Officer is required. This role is customer facing and will be based at the Town Hall. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with integrity, diplomacy when dealing with people and strong organisational skills.

The successful applicant must:

  • Be a confident and outgoing person with an interest in the community,
  • Have a good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Be able to work as part of a team as well as on their own.
  • Have good communication skills which include the following:-
    • Experience of face –to face, telephone, email and letter writing in a business capacity.
    • Experience of social media in a business capacity (preferable)
    • Organisation and administration.
    • Be willing to undertake training
