NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL PROPOSED CUTS THREATEN THE FUTURE OF HIGHAM FERRERS LIBRARY

Northamptonshire County Council needs to find £115m savings over the next 4 years predominantly to meet social care costs in the county. One of the services under threat is the Library and Information Service including Higham Ferrers Library.

Live Blue Lights Demonstration

Firefighters will be staging a mock rescue demonstration and sharing road, winter and fire safety advice in Higham Ferrers next week. Organised by Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS), the event will see a road traffic collision scenario re-enacted in the Market Square car park in Higham Ferrers from 6.30pm on Tuesday (December 12). The Mayor, Councillor Peter Tomas, was delighted to attend the Alpha Pre-School birthday celebrations on Tuesday 17th October. Alpha Pre-School has been serving Higham Ferrers since 1967 and many residents of the town will have children or grandchildren who have attended. To mark their 50th anniversary they held a week-long party from the 16th to the 20th October.
